Spread across two buildings, Oma-je brought together numerous installations by Laure Prouvost, including Wantee, the work that earned her the Turner Prize. Immersion in this tea salon—or “a museum of sorts, with a fool’s collection of objects ” as Marcus Miller writes—and in the other works unfolded against a backdrop honoring femininity. While he critiques the explicit use of broken English, the cinematic narrative and structure of the exhibition struck him as so well orchestrated that he ultimately praises it.
