The Dividing Line

Reflecting migratory movements and the rising popularity of far-right parties, Thomas Kneubühler recreated, with The Dividing Line, the experience of an impassable border—the one in southern Bulgaria. Composed of images showing landscapes scarred by barbed wire and watchtowers, a sound installation, and a metal barrier, the work took the form of a no man’s land, placing the audience in the position of the migrants, according to Sophie Mangado.
