New York street photography is practiced by a vast community, documented in a YouTube video series called Walkie Talkie. Alexis Desgagnés watched all of these photographer portraits and drew from them a number of reflections connected to our “current era, which is so strange and so full of shifting sands”. Despite the consensual images it presents, Walkie Talkie ultimately proves to be a platform that invigorates today’s discourse on photography.
