The twelve photographic series, or “stations,” that made up Yan Giguère’s exhibition Somme toute included nearly 300 images, created using a variety of cameras and technical processes. Their arrangement reflected, according to Charlotte Lalou Rousseau, a “renewed attention to the photographic object and its narrative potential.” The narrative presented drew on reflections on time, impermanence, life, and death, while evoking architectural and cultural heritage, as well as constellations.
