The dialogue between Lynne Cohen’s photographs from the 1970s to 1990s and the recent photographs by Marina Gadonneix was based on a critique of documentary realism and the art object. Beyond the similarities (notably, the absence of human figures), Stephen Horne observes in the importance accorded, respectively, to print media and scientific experimentation the differences between the two practices.
