The Age of Plants
— Bénédicte Ramade
Reflecting the botanical turn currently animating the cultural world, the exhibition Science/Fiction: A Non-History of Plants contributed to the recognition of plants as thinking entities. It thus renewed the botanical imaginary by drawing on both the history of photography and images generated by artificial intelligence. In her essay, Bénédicte Ramade surveys the scientific literature on the subject and focuses on various bodies of work, highlighting, among other things, the experimental approaches to printing in some and the fictional and critical contributions of others.
