CV133 - Martin Parr – Julie Martin

Inaugurated after the artist’s death, though conceived during his lifetime, the retrospective Global Warning, devoted to the work of Martin Parr, was imbued with the photographer’s humour and “biting irony,” as Quentin Bajac, director of the Jeu de Paume, described it. In her essay, Julie Martin highlights this lightness, vivid with colour, while emphasizing Parr’s critical approach, which presents the act of looking as a shared human trait.
